India to Play Kuwait on November 14

The Indian Football team is set to play another international friendly, this time against Kuwait in Abu Dhabi in their built up for the AFC Asian Cup early next year. A media release by the AIFF on Oct 15 in their website reads “India will take on Kuwait in an International Friendly to be played on November 14 at Abu Dhabi., UAE.”

Team India after a month long training in Portugal has so far played six friendly matches against five nations. The result however is not too impressive with just two wins while losing the rest. In their last friendly match against Yemen on October 13, the Indians suffered a humiliating defeat of 6-3. Earlier they suffered two back to back defeats against Thailand at home and away before beating Namibia 2-0 at New Delhi.

Earlier this month they lost to Hongkong by a goal and bounce back impressively to beat Vietnam 3-1. However with that defeat to Yemen, things don’t look good. The team needs to introspect and re-introspect as to what is going wrong and how to fill in the gaps. Bob and boys have to leave behind and forget what has happen till now and start from scratch again when they play a much tougher side Quwait.

The team probably will re-assemble in the first week of November after a break of about two weeks and resume their Mission Qatar. India is placed in Group-C along with Australia, S.Korea and Bahrain in the AFC Asian Cup.
