Bollywood Divas to Perform in the 34th National Games Opening and Closing Ceremony
Adding a glamour quotient to the much delayed 34th National Games to be held in Jharkhand next month, The National Games Organizing Committee has roped in Bollywood Divas to perform in the opening and closing ceremony of the mega sporting event.
While it has been confirmed that Katrina Kaif will performed in the two and a half hour closing ceremony, it’s still uncertain as to who between Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor will perform in the opening ceremony.
Confirming the news was 34th National Games Opening and Closing Ceremony Committee Chairman Sri N.N. Sinha, who said, “Yes Katrina will perform in the closing ceremony, but I still don’t know who will perform in the opening ceremony. It most probably will be either Priyanka Chopra or Kareena Kapoor”.
Answering through a phone, Mr. Sinha further added “Yes, a contract worth Rs 10 Crore with Mumbai- based event organizing firm Cineyug to hold glitzy opening and closing ceremonies is huge but its worth. We want to organize the best ever National Games and want people to remember for years to come”.
Other celebrity who will perform in the opening ceremony is Singer Sukhwinder Singh of the ‘Chaiya Chaiya’ (Dil Se) fame. Big Boss 4 winner Sweta Tiwary will host the opening ceremony. To make the audience gracing the closing ceremony dance to his tune is star Singer Shaan who swayed the audience at the CWG closing ceremony with his ‘Good Bye Sheera” tune.
However President Pratibha Patil is unlikely to attend either of the ceremony though CM Arjun Munda has invited her, reports the India Today Website. The National Games OC is now trying to get Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as the chief guests at the opening and closing ceremonies respectively.
