Playing their last first round qualifying match of 2012 London Olympics Women’s Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka, both the team went into the match without clear favorites after their excellent performance against Bangladesh.
Indian eves drew the first blood in the 69th minute of the game through the Manipuri striker Tababi Devi. However the Uzbekistan women’s came back strongly and restored parity eight minutes later.
There after both the teams fought hard for a goal with neither of them succeeding to break free each other’s defense.
India and Uzbekistan are now tied at 4 points each with identical goal average. The two teams will lock horn again on Wednesday to determine the group topper, who will only progress to the second round of the 2012 Olympic Qualifier,
