Romario in Kolkata

Kolkata once again witnessed another football hero in the form of Romario, the star behind Brazil’s 1994 World Cup triumph. Infact Kolkata is the only Indian city to have hosted football legends like Pele, Maradona and Oliver Kahn to name a few.

The 1994 World Cup Golden Ball winner is in the city to host a 14 episode football reality show ''The Match'' along with compatriot Branco. Getting the first glimpse of the football crazy crowds, while presenting prizes to the winners and looser of Friendship Cup final, he said he was happy to see how people here were fond of soccer and appreciated their enthusiasm with the game . He also congratulated the 6 best players of the tournament, who got a chance to be trained in Bayern Munich.

Mohua Bangla, the channel broadcasting the reality show, has come up with very innovative idea of launching their channel. Who, other than a World Class footballer can be used to capture the attention of the football crazy state. With this show, “Mahua Bangla” will become a household name in Bengal and will surely achieve its goal of an overwhelming launch.

Hopefully, Romario will leave an everlasting impression that will drive the country in achieving its football goals.
