India Women Football Team on Friday, notch up a convincing 3-0 win over neighbour Bangladesh in the first qualifying round for next year's London Olympic.
Manipur’s Bala Devi, the star attraction of the match, scored at brace in the second half after stalemate prevailed over the first 45 minutes of the Group B encounter at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The second half produce a different score line with India breaking the dead lock in the 63rd minute before Bala Devi scored her second goal six minutes later.
Finding their rhythm, the Indian eves were unstoppable as the striker once again found the back of the net in the 84th minute to complete her hat-trick.
India next play Uzbekistan on March 22. To qualify for the next round, India has to top the group. With Uzbekistan likely to beat Bangladesh, India women’s will have to be at their best to overcome the power pack Uzbek team.
