Just as when the ace striker was returning to form, a disaster was waiting to happen for Wayne Rooney. The Manchester United striker was today turned down the appeal he made against a two-match ban imposed by the FA for swearing into a TV camera.Rooney, after completing a hat-trick against West Ham in a Premier League game which pushes them 7 points clear of second place Arsenal at the top, ran into the camera hurling abuses and offensive language.
He will now miss United’s home Premier League match against Fulham on Saturday and the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on April 16. However he will be free to play the Champions League return leg against Chelsea on April 13 as that doesn’t fall under the ambit of FA but UEFA.
